The following are common known issues that can cause errors with Webflow CMS integrations.
Required Fields
Adding required fields to a Webflow CMS collection that is connected via the API will cause integrations to fail when syncing.
Resolution
- Change the field back to optional from the collection settings panel and publish your site.
- Your collection will resume updating at the next scheduled sync or webhook event.
Unpublished Changes to your CMS Collection
If you have made unpublished changes to the connected Webflow CMS collection, this can cause integrations to fail when syncing.
Resolution
- Publish your site.
- Your collection will resume updating at the next scheduled sync or webhook event.
Incompatible Website or Workspace Tier
Free sites within a free workspace do not have API functionality available. Your integration will fail to sync on installation.
Resolution
- Upgrade to a paid site tier in your free workspace or build in a free site in your paid workspace. Site tier must have CMS Functionality.
- Repeat the install process.
Not seeing new CMS collections or items
Webflow requires you to refresh the designer window in your browser to show changes to CMS collections or collection items. Changes will not automatically display in real time. This includes updates to collections, newly created collections, and newly created items.
Resolution
- Refresh the window your designer is in. Alternatively, you can try opening and closing the CMS panel on the left side of the Webflow designer.
